How to connect DVI to mobo instead of video card?

Hey guys, I know this is a silly question but, how do I plug in my DVI adapter to my motherboard, instead of the video card? I'm getting no signal to my monitor so I'm testing if it's the video card's fault. There's only one DVI port at the back of my PC. Thanks.

Are you sure you have a dedicated videocard and not just the one on your motherboard?

So the Motherboard doesn't have it; use something else.

if your motherboard only has hdmi and vga and you have a dvi, you can use a vga-to-dvi adaptor. this adaptor may be given free if you buy gpu.

if adaptor is not applicable, then you have to use a video cable that supports your motherboard and monitor.

I'm using a video card, its GTX 750 Ti. But I wanna connect the DVI to the motherboard temporarily, to check if my video card is causing the problem. There's a VGA, DVI and HDMI port at the back of my PC, but I believe these are all connected to my video card.

Are you sure your mainboard has an onboard videochip?

Either the connections are on Motherboard or GPU Card. You can't confuse the two.
If they are on Motherboard, those are for an onboard GPU (if your CPU has one).
To check this, remove the GPU card, connect Display to Motherboard and power on the system to use onboard GPU instead. If still having issues, reset the CMOS and go from there.

Power down your system. Open the case and disconnect the monitor cable from the video card. Remove the video card from your system. Plug your monitor cable into the motherboard video output. Turn the power on and press the power button on your computer.

Video output ports on the motherboard is completely seperate from ports on your video card. Make sure you remove the GPU first, as most motherboards disable the on board video chipset when a dedicated GPU is in the PCIE slot
