Microphone in my Headset doesn't work. My friends only hear static?

Been trying to for hours to fix this. I don't know the name of the headphones and a mic does appear in sound manager but it only picks up static. If you know how to fix this add me. Need help FAST

Try your headphone on another PC. If the mic also has static on another PC it is dead.

Waht is your headset modell and what PC are you using? Did you made sure that the headset is correctly plugged in? have you tried the headset on another computer? have you tried another headset to assure that the headset is working proberly?

well the chance that 2 pc's soundcards are broken are slim. So I assume that your headset/mic is simply broken. the final test to verify it would be to use another headset which you can borrow from a friend or buy even the cheapest one. I'm afraid that there is nothing we can do about it.

No heres the thing. I have a mic that works just fine, but it's worse sound qual and far away. I wanted to use this one but it's broken for some reason. Oh well, I'll just buy another one

I only think the mic is broken, because when I plug in the pink one into the mic jack is registers, you know a cheap mic thing that I can buy for like under 20$ here I added you so I can get better comunication

Open mic settings, set it to listen and talk in it to see if its staticy. Might be whatever program ur using for chat is using wrong mic input.

well you might not going to believe that but USB headsets are mostly the better ones imo. Well it is hard to get a headset with good quality parts at that pricerange so you defently have to google for some that are currently reduced or buy it 2nd hand (which I am personally not a fan of with headsets).

Buy another mic then, ur mic prob got a short in it. Depending on the type and where thr short is u might can replace the cord or rework the internals.

well i know what you mean but I dont know the english word of the thing that is on the mic which I assume you ment. That is not a qualtiy characteristic. Alot of the real good and expensive one dont have that...
