Well like with the 1000 series they oc more automatically. Like my boost clock is supposed to be 1860something but it runs at 1987 or something. Gpu booste 3.0 is great.
I just meant tinkering with manually OC'ing these air cooled GPUs, they usually really won't help boost the FPS enough (if at all really) to make it worth doing. Usually have to have a water-block and custom-loop to make manually OC'ing them worth-while in most situations of in-game FPS comparisons.
But yea I do hear alot of "stay away from Gigabyte due to coin wine"
Folks... any GPU or PSU could potentially do this. It is not normal, RMA the product if un-happy. It's what the warranty support is for.

Yes, time to update.
Besides it is fun to push your hardware as fast it can go, just like tuning a sports car or bike that is fast already. You can gain horsepower in a car/bike by simply shedding weight and changing the air filter. If you're happy with fast enough, then obviously overclocking or tuning isn't for you.
Well said! I told myself (and I've been told as well) not be a geek and insane about the whole overclocking thing. The main reason I eventually decided to go with "K" CPU (well RAMs still at 2400Mhz), Z-Motherboard, and whatnot, is because of the future-proofing - so that my new PC will be strong enough for the next three/four years, that I'll be able to overclock my components so I won't have to stay behind and most likely won't be able to play normally.
