Running PS3 Audio Through PC screen to a pair of headphones.
Running PS3 audio through PC screen to pair of headphones.
Currently had a briliant idea of connecting my PS3 to my Medion PC screen via a HDMI cable. The PS3 outputs it to my pc screen and i can see the PS3 screen. but when i plugged in my headphones into the headphone jack it dident seem to send through any sound. The only other cable attached to the screen is the video output cable of my PC (DVI). How can i fix this? Is it some setting in the PS3 or is there something i could do with my PC screen?

Update: I discovered that my PC screen was on mute. It now plays the audio through the PC screen itself and not the headphones which are plugged in. Currently needing a fix for that

I know it allows for sound to get out of the monitor as i used a pair of headphones with the same jack before for the pc, which would turn out made a buzzing noise in with the same rate as my FPS.
thats just a pass-thru from your pc then. check the manual / menu if it is actually possible to playback audio from hdmi.
Go into the PS3 dashboard settings and redo the Audio Settings; HDMI, etc...
Check that the Monitor's Volume is all the way up (Monitor speakers are generally low, even at 100% volume). The audio will only be an option via HDMI. Then DVI (PC) and HDMI (PS3) can be left connected at same time; just manually switch between them via the Monitor; should be a one-touch for changing Video Input.
