Need a new processor without replacing motherboard, don't know what type of MB I have

Forgive me if anything I say is incorrect, I don't know jack♥♥♥♥♥♥when it comes to hardware.

My processor is utter garbage, so I'm looking to replace it without buying a new motherboard, however, I have no idea what my motherboard is. I'm going to open up my PC at some point, but right now, when I look at Speccy, it says my MB is ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. CM6330_CM6630_CM6730_CM6830 (LGA1155). This is confusing to me because it's showing multiple versions of a motherboard seperated by underscores. I looked up LGA1155 as well, found a bunch of different motherboards that are related to that keyword. I bought my computer prebuilt in about 2012, by the way.

Can someone explain to me how I can find my actual motherboard model? Thanks.

It'll be cheaper to buy a new mobo and processor than getting a new one for that mobo. Most of the ones I saw that would be a worthwhile upgrade are like 300-400

wmic baseboard get product,manufacturer,serialnumber

LGA 1155 is the CPU socket type on your motherboard. If you get a new CPU, you'll need to get one designed for that socket type.

Wait a minute... You just want a new CPU, right? All you need to know about the motherboard is the socket type, which you already know: LGA 1155.

That should spit out what you need to know and open your case and get the model make of the psu.

With any luck you could get a "used" i7 3770 into it a new 3770 would just cost too much if you could find one but first you need to know what mobo you have and psu.

Or just replace you GPU because that is total crap compared to the cpu at this point.

The GTX960 4GB ^ is on par with the gtx1050ti in DX11 and the GTX1050ti does a little better in DX12 . So basically the GTX1050ti, Rx 570, Rx580 4GB or 8GB and the GTX1060 6GB would be mounds better than the GTX650 2GB.

that's what you should do. rx 580 or gtx 1060 will be much better than what you currently have.

Your CPU is fine and no point in upgrading unless you do some really CPU-heavy tasks.

Just as others suggeted, if you want more FPS leave your mobo/cpu alone and look for a GPU (1060, 580 or older 480, 970 if there's a bargin), maybe replace the PSU unless it's top of the line.

My PSU is 350w, which is kinda on the lower-end. I found a great deal for a 960 so I'm going to get that. I can't change my PSU out though, I don't have enough money, so I'm hoping everything works well.
