Windows 10 Pro does everything Windows 10 home does but it has some extra functionality for advanced and business users. Just get Windows 10 Home unless you can think of a reason why you would need Windows 10 Pro if you can't you don't need it.

Nah. The Pro version ain't worth it. I thought maybe the compared the Home version Pro has more security advantages, but we just have to be careful since Microsoft is taking data.

Win10 is better

Also, you should be able to use your Win7 key to activate Win10
I did this 2 months ago with my sons PC from Win7 and it worked, so it should still work.

And yes, this is on purpose
Microsoft did this so people could still get the upgrade for free

So assuming they are still allowing it, you can get Win10 for free
You just need a 4GB USB drive to install it onto with the media creation tool and your Win7 key which can be obatined by the program SPECCY

Huh why do I need a USB drive when I can just download it the win 10 installer form the microsoft website ?

Cause you need a media backup and once you upgrade and install Win10 and it is activated; u need to prepare to wipe the OS clean and do a clean OS install of Win10.

You dont need Win10 Pro. Win10 is fully free if you just re-use your Win7 key in Win10. Win10 Home is all people need who are not already in the know of what Pro brings to you.

Win10 hides alot of settings though, that is what ShutUp10 is for, to give the user back the control they deserve.

Mhm, and I guess Pro does come with some extra software and programs from Microsoft, but your better off just going to go download some free programs rather then what Home offers you. P.S for the OP, don't get Windows 10 S, it's supposed to be similar to ChromeOS, but basicly it was ment for tablet like devices.

The average user and gamer will see nothing from WinOS PRO that is worth buying it.
They dont have average user perks like XP/Vista/7 PRO had.

It's basically been a part of what I've always done when having a reinstalled Windows. I'm gonna do the same with Windows 10. I know there's this online site that has linked programs, programs that everyone use: Steam, Skype, Origin, etc. etc. etc.. I forgot what's the name of that site.

Also about WinOS PRO; why would u need to go there?
If you have Win7 Home already and a legit key, well that makes Win10 Home free for you. So yea, use that. You aren't missing anything from not having Pro.

Do not use sites like that.. unless you want malware on your system. Only download software you trust for the website of whoever makes it. Avoid websites like Softonic and Cnet.

Of course. I used to as a kid, though, downloading mods for a game from Cnet and Softonic, but I now I know they're malware bastards.

ninite is also linking software with malware (intentional or not) I keep mixing the two up but either IMGburn or InfraRecorder will install malware on your system I am unsure which one. I think InfraRecorder is the one that comes with malware.

I actually don't know the other sites you've mentioned - so that's good not to even bother entering them :steamhappy:

If that's really the case, I always manually download each software from their personal sites. Steam from Steam. Java from Java. Skype from Skype. You know the drill.

You don't need java anymore when using a modern internet browser and its a security risk.
