Steam Badge for 100% achievement completion on any game
I got all of the achievements on Metro 2033 a few days ago and, since this is the first game that I've ever got all achievements/trophies of on any platform, it's a pretty big thing for me. So I thought it would be pretty cool if a Steam Badge was made for this. It would be a nice way of recognition for those who put in some extra hours on a game to do everything, yet it wouldn't really hurt anyone else either (only maybe encourage some people who care about these things to do the same). It's always nice to have a bit of competition, and since I can't see any downsides to this, then why not? I'm sure there are many others who would agree with me about this. :)

To any readers who agree with this: please leave a comment to show your support. The more people post, the higher the chance that a member of Valve staff will see it and consider it. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I posted this 3 years ago and I stopped being a fan of this idea ages ago. If you still want something like this implemented then feel free to show your support here, but I would appreciate it if you would check this out also/instead: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/527273789699924735/

I agree, it will be making a difference between an person who as no experience and someone who have all of what we need about gaming info.

Good idea.i think steam is lacking the competitive nature that ps3 or xbox has for achievements.steam needs a numerical value for your achivements as a whole and a badge for getiing 100% on a game would be great idea

I like the idea of this but it would be difficult to implement and keep the integrity of the feature in tact because it is so easy to cheat in PC games.

I support this idea.

Oh my god, another person wanting the achievements to change. NO! If you want 'competition', go play on a console. PC gamers don't care about the competitive side of achievements, we get them for ourselves, no one else.

You do not speak for all PC gamers. Quit acting like you do.

A lot of people who are PC gamers care about the "competitive side" of achievements. I'd love to see a Steam gamerscore type of thing. That's why I use http://steamachievementhunters.com/

I support the idea of having a Steam Badge for acquiring all the achievements in a game.

Going to repeat what Allenik has said. Don't speak for everyone.

There are a lot of PC Gamers who care about achievements, just like there are lots of console gamers who don't care about achievements.

I care. And know what? We already have a section about achievements. And some games already have a "last achievement" for achieve others. AvP, for example.

to OP: I complete something about 15* games with all achievements. Believe me, this is a very bad idea about 100 % achievement in Badges section.

UPD: * Exactly 11 games.

There is? I don't see it! People here are talking about badges on your community profile, such as Years of Service and Pillar of Community.

But there isn't such thing there. Why are you saying there is when there's quite obviously not. I have 20 games that I have 100% achievements in. What you're saying is I have 27 badges on my profile (7 I already have and 20 for the games). I don't.

I see absolutely no requirement for this.
Not wanting this and saying it's already there are two completely different things.

Try to understand. Game achievements (keyword is game) and Steam Badges (keyword is Steam) is a two different things. What a point of Badges if they being doubled existed achievements?
Games this is a games. Steam this is a Steam. Badges is a sort of achievements for Steam. Not for games, because games already have their own.

I do understand that. That doesn't change the fact that you said there are Steam Badges for 100%ing games in terms of achievements when, in fact, there is no such Steam badge. That's all I'm saying.

Personally, I'm much more in favour of this: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/882959708451574151/

I have a few games where I'm sitting up around like 80%. If a badge were added, I'd probably feel encouraged to revisit some old favorites in order to earn my 100% badge! Maybe some games could even add tiers like that summer sale did. Like a 50%, 75% and 100% tier to some badges (the ones with more achievements).

I don't support this at all. The system that steam has in place now is perfect as it is. What you propose would be a step closer to gamers starting to believe that it is their right to have 100%. If they don't boost the more difficult ones, they'll cry about the difficulty; which will likely lead to achievements designed so that they're achievable by all with as little effort as possible. Because apparently everyone has to feel special.

Now, if adding 100% are a step in the wrong direction, I feel that adding a numerical value to achievements would break them entirely. Especially if they were made mandatory (I very much doubt that Valve would ever do this though). You can't compare apples with oranges, so how can you assign achievements from a wide variety of genres with a common value? I remember I got some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ achievement on xbox worth 50 points for starting a new game, while the achievement for surviving 1,000,000 on Geometry Wars was worth 30. You can't assign a value and expect it remain consistent. Furthermore, assigning values would shift focus away from the achievements and onto the total values, or "gamerscore", which would lead to further problems. If you want to use some third party site, do that; but it is absolutley not true that it won't affect those who don't want it because it will ♥♥♥♥ the whole ecosystem up for everybody.

Having said all that, I want to stress that I'm actually a fan of achievements. But only if they're done right.
