"Music in game" widget in steam UI?

Ever play a game that doens't have your preferred choice of music and you end up playing music of your own instead using Itunes or Windows media player or Ubuntu One Music or whatever other media player you have? Well. I was thinking Steam could use a media player too!

I here by suggest a Media player widget TOGGABLE upon entering Steam in game UI that reads music from your My Music Library (or munally choosen folder through settings) and allows you to play said music and control which songs are playing. All that would be needed is a simple widget that can minimized that contains the simple controls nothing fancy, next, previous, play/pause, random/notrandom/repeat, all those normal controls we already know.

any one else onboard for this idea? :3 or am i wrong to think there ISN"T a music player for steam already available?

If you don't want this or agree with this idea DON'T POST ANYTHING NEGATIVE IN TURN, JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT' WANT IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO GET AN IDEA SHOT DOWN DUE TO YOUR OWN SELFISHNESS.

Download winamp....use the global hotkeys. Problem solved.

not all games allow for global hotkey support some games disconnect them from their main functions for whatever reason. Other games get slowed down due to winamp controls. Other games cause winamp to crash upon loading the game, I don't want to deal with the uncessary ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and just have my controls with in the steam UI with universal shortcut like controls that you can attach to any specific media player. Please people stop giving me stupid answers and making the idea look worse and worse when the reality is you don't want it to happen simply because you dont' want it to happen. Let those of us who do want it to happen get it and get on with your pathetic excuse for an existence how about that? The more people reply negatively to an idea that would actually benifit all of us the less people will want to actually be part of the community in the first place.

You're a rude spoiled brat child . I'm just trying to give you alternative solutions because obviously there is currently no "Music in game widget in steam UI" and there are plenty of things you could be doing. You probably have so many crashes and freezes because your computer is out-dated. Have fun complaining and still not getting what you want.

Yes i'm a rude spoiled brat. How about you look at the convo history. So far everyone has given me a "no do this instead" response with the exception of a few people saying they'd like it too.

You see this is why i can understand why some people have a problem with the PC gaming community. I've had a talk with some of my friends who tried PC gaming and when they had a suggestion or a request made to the community almost everyone bashed on their idea and told them NO with out giving it a single second of a thought. Instead they gave half assed rehashed answers while trying not to say NO at the same time which in of itself is essneitlaly meaning you're saying NO. You want to talk about rude? how about THAT how's that for rude? i'm not spoiled nor a child nor a brat i'm a realist and i call it as i see it and the steam community on the whole blows chunks because of how they respond to people when they make a suggestion that seems like it should be EASY to do. but instead of getting behind the persons idea you just throw workarounds at them.

No support, No reliability, no common sense.

My computer is completely up to date and very capable too by the way i built it from scratch TYVM and yes while my processor is only second gen i7 it's still very compitent enough to pull off quit a bit of heavy lifting tasks. My graphics card is that of the sapphire AMD 7770 with 1G dedicated DDR5 ram and i have 10g's of DDR3 ram. So no my compter is no where near OUTDATED it's just that some programs CONFLICT with one another and windows happens to have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ way of handling processes overall especially when running programs from the Prgrams(X86) folder which happens to be the default for quite a few programs i run.

If you were to say instead It's NOT POSSIBLE to create a media player widget then i'd probably take that answer because somethings like that aren't necessarily possible but you throw "altnerative" options in my face to make me assume it is in fact very possible and this request wouldn't take all that much work honestly nor would it cost all that much to accomplish.

and i'm not drunk i'm just fed up with people who continuously give me the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ answers in this community. Workaround workaround workaround when really that isn't what i'm looking for. I'm not looking for an additional step added to my gaming. I'm looking for something that adds no addtional steps at all past updating steam or installing the plugin/widget through the software section of the library.

and no before you say it i'm not looking to steam as my all in one source for entertainment. My all in one source of entertainment would be my PC in general. What i'm looking to steam for is my all in one GAMING experience excluding the few games i play that don't come from steam. Yet instead the gamers who would probably come up with these very same ideas as i have instead of just supporting the idea they bash on it then later on come up with a similar if not identical idea to the original they just bashed on and defend it with their life as if they claim some sort of right to brag that they were the cause for such a thing becoming reality.

Maybe they don't support it because their PC doesn't crash when they use alternatives?

Why is it when an idea comes up that doesn't have an impact on an individual one way or another do they feel the need to bash on the idea in turn regardless of the outcome? seriously if you don't have anything GOOD to say don't say anything at all because anything you WANT to say only reduces the success of such a thing happening. If it doesn't impact you regardless LEAVE IT ALONE.
