Make the store less... clunky (Specials)
Whenever there's a big sale on, I go to store.steampowered.com in a browser and look at the games there rather than in Steam. Why is that?

The reason is simple - Go to the front page of the store in steam, click on the 'specials' tab, go to the second page and click on a game.
It's interesting, but not what you're after. Hit the back button. Where are you? You're back on the front page... but it's back to displaying the 'New Releases' tab rather than the 'Specials' tab. Even if you click the specials tab, you're back on page 1. It's a mess. Not only that, but it's limited to showing only the first 100 specials.

But wait, there's _another_ specials page if you click on 'See all specials' in the 'Specials' section on the right of the front page.
Now this is more like it - it shows all the specials and it's all on one page... but there's no '-75%' there to give you an idea of the discount. In fact, you have no way of quickly seeing what the discount is without clicking on a game. This is no good. And since it doesn't tell you the discount, there's no way to order by discount to see the biggest reductions first.

The usual way I look at specials is in a browser, middle-clicking all the games I like as I go so I don't have to wrestle with Steam's clunky interface.

What I'd like to see:
1) An interface that doesn't change what I was looking at when I hit the back button
2) A single specials page - why are they displayed in 2 totally different ways?
3) A link to the specials page from the specials tab (how are you supposed to spot it down in the bottom right?)
4) The discount amount (-75% etc) and the option to order by it on the specials page
5) The option to hide DLC in the specials page or only show DLC for games you own (some games seem to just fill the specials page with their DLC)

On a related note, why does the specials page have a 'Type' column with only icons and no explanation of what they mean?

Thanks for reading!

+1 Nicely stated Max! It would also be nice to see a price history graph of each game and DLC similar to the ones found in Steam Market.
+1 I have the same annoyance with the steam platform which is why I've converted to 98% web user.

+1 same here. I almost always open firefox to have a look at the steam store even though Steam client is open or sitting in the tray.

Espeically bonus with the use of Enhanced Steam extension
