Although I admit not warning people what the limit is and seeing someone change their name to a bunch of emotes, followed by a bunch of broken-emotes would be funny as hell.
And give all of us saner people an easy way to tell who to filter off our friendlist
(there exists color codes in several games for Steam names, ^<number> if I remember correctly, and since Steam does not support such a feature, it renders the nick quite hard to read).
So, no, I'd disagree.
