Printable Steam Achievements
When printing the achievements so much ink/toner and paper is wasted because of the background color and white space between the achievements.
It would be great to have a nice printable layout (including achievement description and possible image) when printing the Steam Achievements.

I would very much like this. Is it available anywhere?
Me too - I'm just looking to print my current achievement status for a game so I can target specific ones as I continue playing. I don't like to waste toner and paper so a printable checklist format would be great.
The current CSS (or lack of) for printing would be OK if there wasn't a grey image stuck in via HTML in each entry (http://steamcommunity-a.akamaihd.net/public/images/skin_1/achieveBG.gif). If Valve could move that to CSS (preferably under the correct media type), I think we'd be heaps better off.
I agree with this... it's fun to print out and target each one instead of going through the website or alt tabbing and interfering with the application.
Or you could simply copy the achievement list and paste it in the text editor of your choice...

I wish people would at least know the very basic functions of the devices they are using.

This is a pretty good idea, this needs to be added.

Holy crap! Why didn't I think of that? Oh wait. I did. Of course my browser has a print button, and I should be able to use it. If you want to go all "people should just <workaround>", then why don't we go back to DOS because people could just learn to use those basic functions too, right?
And forget graphics in games. People should just use their imagination more.

As for the actual issue being discussed. It appears to be printing out with less gaps and no grey box now. No idea when they changed stuff.
Ok so I actually have some helpful advice and I'm not here to sound like a pretentious bleep.. but in firefox theres an addon you can install that lets you select certain parts of the page edit... now I don't know if this is already built into firefox but I believe it just makes it more convenient.

sometimes it does what it wants to when you click certain things but once you get the hang of it it can be easy. Also google/search the specific game for a list and use a page like that since it is a little differently layed out when you try to do this with a steam page but who knows; it may work. I know some of these things may come as 'common sense' but not everyone assumes they have all the answers.
I didn't hear of/look for such a plugin before but it sounds nice. Will come in handy on some other websites too I think :-)
i know this original topic is old.. but... i still am curious.. What's the point of printing out achievements from Steam games anyways?? What do you do? Hang them on your refrigerator or something? i don't get it.

I guess it provides two things people already like: art and records. There's a little drawing for achievements so that covers the art and achievements are a record of something you did like people who have photos of themselves on vacation or hiking to the top of a mountain or people that keep trophies and awards they may of gotten from sports, school, work or whatever.

Thanks for responding, CharlestONE, that helps me understand better why someone would want to do that. i can see how it could be a bit like the vaction photos/trophies thing you'd want even in the real world better now ^.^ :butterfly:

No, I don't see it as a vacation photo kind of thing and don't think others do too haha it is more of a check list but similar to that maybe since I put them in a 3 ring binder after hole punching them lol. You're right about the part of having something in the real world in a sense cause it helps to physically have infront of you sometimes instead of tabbing back and forth and going off a vague memory of it. There is also the weird satisfaction of crossing it off... I dunno it's just fun in a weird way for ocd people lol.

I've only done it for games where I sit in front of the TV to play, and don't always have a keyboard handy to ALT-TAB. I print the list so I can see how I'm going as I play (and cross them off as I get them).
When I'm playing at my desk, I don't bother - ALT-TAB works there.
