You want real solution? Soon Valve will bring up their new "SteamU" Client design. Which has big text big icon (as you guys demanded) just like big picture mode except it is a desktop client and looks like a baby of Origin and Uplay according to the leak. (it runs in 4k)
Don't ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.
If that SteamU design is anything like you just described it...."just like big picture mode" then we sure will ♥♥♥♥♥ about it. Big picture mode, in the opinion of many, is a rubbish way to use Steam. We don't want to have something like a console experience on our desktops and laptops....that's why we don't use BPM now....we believe it to be crap. Sure, it's all opinion, but when you compare it to the client, thats the opinion we arrive at....not to mention the fact that BPM excludes things like the forums, and is still completely inappropriate if you intend to read a lot of text. BPM, in my opinion, is for Steam users who just really don't want to use Steam that much.
The Steam client, pretty much the way it is, is what we want to be able to use, and it's not too much to ask that it can be shown big enough for all users to read....even those using 4k. Incidentally, many of us aren't even using 4k. I use 1920:1080 on a 17inch laptop screen, and sit about 30 cm away from it....the OP uses something similar. Even at these resolutions the client font sizes are too small to read. When this thread was started in 2013, 4k was a lot less common than it is now, but the small text problem was already an issue then. I sure hope they fix it properly. Anything like BPM is just a joke and not what we want at all.
BTW2-I have not ignored BPM I have tried to use it but it feels like using a games console and a step backwards. I actually used it for a couple of weeks but it just takes away that seat of your pants gaming feel and makes you feel like you are not the one controlling things. Like you are being mollycoddled.
Big picture but run in a window.
I'll certainly give it a try but I suspect it will be just another console skin for steam.
Send me a message if you get it and want the games (I say this because some people don't like to accept gifts on line) I will not post again so as not to influence it.
Rules
You must be the first to have the 1000th post any alterations after are null and void.
You must have at least one post already in this thread prior to this post. If the 1000th isn't by a person that qualifies then it will go to the first person who qualifies and posts after the 1000th
Consecutive posts are not valid so no spamming the thread
Just to be clear, by this last condition I mean that if you post 998, 999, and 1000 or even just 999 and 1000 you are not allowed to claim the games.
Don't know why the ♥♥♥♥ people love material design and literally every 2017 applications are using that kind of design now when it sucks so bad on PC. Material design hides all the buttons to make the screen looks "clean" and become "simple to use". Using symbol instead of icon with text to represent a feature is like going back to stone age when everyone is drawing icons to communicate.
what point are you trying to make?
its like you want everyone to shut up, because everythings fine.
yet you offer alternatives, because there's clearly a problem.
and then you berate the alternatives, because they're no good.
Just let it be and it will eventually come, if Valve cared. In the meantime, discuss all you want.
We're basically doing the only thing we can do about it, posting here.
What alternative is there?
Stay silent? That's no world I want to live in!
People should complain about things that aren't good enough.
I don't mean cry and swear and get angry, I mean explaining problems in a reasonable way.
It sounds like you want what we want, but the way you've been replying so far suggested you felt things were fine...
Glad to see you're actually on our side, a bit.
Or maybe a 2nd price for 999 — It's a pretty nice and cool number as well.
