STEAM UI - FONT SIZE !
I know that this has been mentioned before but i think this really has to be changed!
please implement a font size setting within the steam options/settings

for some it might be too big, but on my 1900x1200 screen the fonts are simply to small.
yes so small that i can't imagine this is healthy for one's eys.
i can not believe that it would be too much work to give users the option to increase/decrease font sizes

the store pages, forums, library and so on are too small or too big for some of us and changing windows settings like resolution or dpi can never be the solution from the point of view of those responsible for this @ steam.

change this please - it is a problem that persists for YEARS now!
thank you if you find the time to read this...

and you others: i wouldn't mind if you push the f*** out of this thread

If you have a Windows, go to "Ease of Acess", there you can change different things like font sizes, it SHOULD carry over to the Steam Overlay.

that's exactly what i will not do...
why should i change the settings of my OS for steam
and the windows settings always affect other things as well

i just want a normal font size for all resolutions
this is absolut standard even with not so popular software
it is a shame that you simply cannot change the fontsize

this might be nice

thanks for the hint but i already knew that thread =/
i once had a skin with bigger fonts from there - but it caused other issues and the ones there that support all of steams current features dont have bigger fonts it seams

Why should Steam change just for you, when clearly you're the one with the problem.

Assuming he's on a high resolution setup, it is an active problem for anyone beyond 1920x1280 resolution.

Seconded I want to be able to change my font size. I use a 42" tv as a monitor and I can't read anything from my couch.

No. Only those who are too stubborn to alter their resolution or settings.

are you serious?
we should change our resolution only for steam and if not we are stubborn?
do you get cookies for the crap you post? =)

Please increase the font size in the trading and chat windows
TopCat Jul 20, 2013 @ 8:15am
good idea
Tungsten Jul 20, 2013 @ 1:35pm
and its the same BS again...
you go into steam defensive stance and want me to change my OS settings which might affect all other programs and you come up with the same arguments as the clown had that posted before you? - honestly im the kind of openminded guy but guys like you make me sick
go away! ...

Put it this way:

Solution 1) Change resolution or windows settings.
Minimal time and effort for user
Simple, easy and could be accomplished with minimal experience
Doesn't require anyone else or third party interaction
It's not going to have any adverse effects on anyone else
Can be swiftly reverted when required to suit
Completely optional.

Solution 2) Valve implement an entire feature set of font UI change
Cost
Only beneficial to a fraction
Potential for more issues and undesirable features
Not easy to remove/rollback, cannot be reverted by a single user.
Completely compulsory

Now think again about why you think Valve should go to all the trouble just because you're too lazy/stubborn to make a tiny insignifcant change?

Does this affect you in any way? If not why do you care? Or are you jsut upset because you are stiill using a potato as a monitor?
Tungsten Jul 21, 2013 @ 3:14am
it's simply a joke that if you start steam on a high resolution monitor the fonts are far too small to read them without problems - i cannot ever think of a reason why you would not agree ...

you can change the settings by changing the "font-size" value within the correspondent styles file but this is not what i expect to be honest
if you have a dozen programs running it shouldn't be your job as a standard user to fix stuff like that for all your programms
this is BS...
Tungsten Jul 21, 2013 @ 6:56am
i have not created the problem that the fonts are to small when using the native resolution of my monitor - i dont even use the standard dpi settings so the fonts would even be smaller without this setting

you guys really try to defend steam at all costs it seams
the problem is - and you can google it its not only my problem - that under certain circumstances the fonts are too small or big and you cant change it - a problem that i only expecrienced with "the secret world" so far
and it's extreme or why else would i create this thread
this "it's fine for me so it has to be fine for you" attitude is terrible! and if you can't help you don't need to tell me it's my fault...
