Valve, Accept Bitcoins! Why don't you follow Humble Bundle inc's good example?
Hello Valve. I get my Steam games from Humble Bundle inc. I pay what I want in Bitcoin! It's easy to pay with this money. I don't have to login to any webbank or any intermediary to make my payments for your Steam games. I just use software on my computer, and zoom the payment is done, just like you send an email.

In the end it's your choice. As it is now I'll continue getting my Steam games from Humble Bundle inc.

Have fun!

Have fun getting your money out of Mt.Gox and all the other Bitconi providers that have shut down.

I don't use Mt. Gox. I use Swedish owned Kapiton, Sweden's greatest exchange.

Mt Gox was the 'biggest exchange in the USA'. Your point?

U.S.A. is not the world map.

me too

Mt Gox was THE LARGEST exchange in the entire world. More than 50% of all exchanges.

And my apologies. Mt Gox was based out of Japan. Does that change anything? Is "japan not the world map"

The point is that Humble Bundle inc are smart for choosing to accept Bitcoin, listening to its users, unlike Valve...

The point he's trying to make is that if the biggest one in the world can go down overnight, so can any other exchange.

1) Very few people actually own bitcoin
2) Even FEWER people use it to actually buy stuff. 99% of all bitcoins NEVER are used in transactions. So depiste all the hoopla over it, no one is actually DOING anything with this money. You might as well call MtG card 'currency'

People are just hoarding this junk. It's not a currency. It's just hoarding a virtual item in the hedge that its value will go up.

Others are. I am not. I'm only using it to donate to the EFF and to purchase video games from Humble Bundle inc. That's how I got waking mars, Shank, Shank 2, Awesomenauts and even Aquaria, although I was previously generously gifted it from one of the game devs that worked on it. Why am I doing it? It's easy to use, and my transactions can't be frozen by some power hungry corporation that may want to block my transaction tomorrow.

I'm saying, if you don't want to, stay away from it. I'm liking it cause I understand it's usefulness.

Not sure how it's any easier than real money.
Also, as someone who has used a real bank for the better half of 2 decades, I have never once had a situation where a power hungry corporation blocked any transaction.
I see a pattern of paranoia and chronic distrust with most bitcoin enthusiasts. Warranted or not, it isn't wise to just trust in the system purely because the corporations or government aren't involved with it.

Sort of the irony is that if 'something goes wrong' you're much much more likely to recover if you're using a bank or a credit card, than with Bitcoin.
