Embed IRC client?

Embedding a very basic IRC client to the Steam application and enabling users to make use of their own preferred IRC servers would be a very nice feature. It would not be entirely redundant to Steam chat, as you can't trade or advertise items or invite others to play games over IRC and IRC provides chat functionality not present in Steam (for example, the recently much embattled emote command).

Supported. While a web-client WORKS, a native client would allow notifications in the corner, and would likely run faster.

Long as you've got a clear disclaimer that anything in it isn't associated with Steam, Valve, or whatnot, you're good.

This is something that is badly needed. Steam group chat is awful.
