People still buy CSGO.
People still buy 1.6.
Besides, then there'd be no real reason to buy 1.6 if you can just get it with CSGO, right?
That would end up decreasing profits and sales.
Still need profit on 15 years old game? after few ww game release success?
Do they need it?
God no.
Is it helpful?
God yes.
Even though it's an old game, it's still widely played and widely purchased. Maybe when sales for it die down they'll consider bundling it, but as it is now, I'm doubting it.
Besides, that money they're getting is allowing them to pay for their servers and fund future projects.
It also helps them with funding their sales.
VALVe already does a lot.
Did you consider that, perhaps, you're the one being at least a little bit greedy?
The best business solution on market about selling a good, is two at price of one.
So, sell two games at price of one game and users will start to move on CS:GO
Valve is trying now moving slowly all CS 1.6 steam players on CS:GO and my idea seems to be a good idea.
The reason people don't want to move on to GO is because they don't like they're not liking the competitive scene, they're not liking the weapon balancing, they're not liking the changes, etc.,
I highly doubt adding 1.6 to it would work.
I'd say "Perhaps a 1.6 and CSGO bundle" would work, but there is already a Counter-Strike Collection that does exactly that.
I wouldn't be surprised if some people out there didn't buy CSGO -because- of the lack of sprays.
You got it, anyway some kind of TF2 Free 2 Play formula?
Just in CS 1.6 there is no workshop to do :D
The reason TF2 F2P formula works is because of the huge trading community, crafting, etc., etc.,
That'd never work in Counter-Strike without making a ton of changes.
Changes that would probably anger the fanbase.
Yeah, that's right. Steam is not going to send ya a game as a gift if this game is still making some money. Maybe in a future, when CS 1.6 will be no longer "famous", Steam will make this class of gift. Or maybe, if they found another ""gold mine", they will gradualy stop selling CS 1.6 and make it free, but only if the new game make more money than CS 1.6.
