Get the Warhammer 40,000 license from Games Workshop
Seeing that Dawn of War 3 will likely never happen, would it be possible for Valve to get the rights from Games Workshop to make a first-person shooter based on 40K's Imperial Guard?

All games Valve ever developed were FPS (except Dota). I'd rather see another Warhammer strategy game. :P

Nice Idea!....if valve can work on warhammer 40000 then the might of warhammer 40000 lore and Mental prowess of Valve can bring us a mighty beast to play with. I can go for both FPS and RTS. I enjoy both.

But that would mean (DEspite paying a lot of monies for the IP) that they would be bound to GW approval for whatever they'd try to do. Valve does not like to have someone on their shoulders telling them 'Nope, can't let you do that Dave' That's why they always make and work on their own IP.
(A Valve made WH40000 game could seriously kick ass though :))
