Disable Steam Guard for browser
I think it would be interesting if Steam Guard had multiple settings: off, normal, and super.
Off would, obviously, be off, steam guard does nothing.
Normal would then be that it steam guard only activates when you actually use steam and it does nothing when you login through a browser.
Super would be like the current system, both with steam & browser.

I'm asking this because from dec 12 onward you need to have steam guard on (if I understood it correctly that is) but I clean up cookies, temp files, etc. often so every time I try to login to, for example, tf2 trading site, I need to go get the code again.

Or maybe the steam guard system could be improved so that it checks for a file on your pc everytime which is kept somewhere and not cleaned up by cleaning programs such as ccleaner: and browsers use this as well somehow instead of cookies.

1) You should have steam guard on IN GENERAL

2) In order to use the TF2 TRADING you must have SteamGuard for your own protection

3) Disabling SteamGuard on the browser means I can hijack your account and run up charges on your credit card

4) If your cookie cleaner program is deleting the cookie, well maybe the cleaner program is to blame and not steamguard

DO NOT DISABLE STEAMGUARD

I just find it annoying as hell to have to get the code everytime I want to login somewhere... but I guess its the only option indeed...

You only have to do it once per computer. If youre' doing it more than once per cmoptuer it means whatever cookie cleaner you have is going bonkers. Most good cleaners don't obliterate teh cookie Steam uses.

no, they don't clean the steam files, I can login with steam easily but it does clean the cookies my internet browser uses to go login through steam, so it thinks im using a new browser everytime. i use ccleaner which is pretty popular and well known so i dont think it should be a bad one

Ccleaner has been the reported cause of issues like yours. It can be pretty overzealous 'deleting stuff', which leads to repeated Steamguard verifications on computers using it (Even on the client itself)

steam gaurd is for your own protection just keep it on all the time and you wouldnt have to enter any codes
