Meaningful State/Province selection in New Zealand please?

When selecting where we are from on our profiles...

At present we get to choose from a huge list of counties.

The problem with this is that country isn't divided into counties most of the time. It's divided _administratively_ into counties, boroughs OR cities (and I only know this because I searched on the names in the list, they're really not divisions that we are familiar with). You either live in a city, OR a borough, OR a county. Counties are rural areas around small towns. Cities aren't in counties. Neither are most towns. Most New Zealanders do not live in a county - most New Zealanders will not be able to find any entry in this list that describes where they live.

The list you want to be using is the Regions -
Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Wanganui, Wellington, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland, Chatham Islands (Chatham Islands isn't a region, but it's a special case). These are the divisions that everybody uses and are familiar with.

Some cities to choose from would be nice too. We don't have many.

Edit: Valve - the people you buy your geographical lists from fixed the New Zealand list years ago. Why haven't you updated it?

These have been on here for a while and it's information taken from what looks to be an outdated list.
It isn't anything beyond nitpicking on a not-so-important(or is it?) feature but it doesn't(/shouldn't) require much to be updated and is a strange list to see everytime I edit my profile, in my opinion.

I don't think it's outdated, so much as irrelevant to most New Zealanders. Administrative divisions are cities or counties or boroughs. The counties list is still relevant, but only to regional authorities, not normal people. And having it without the cities or boroughs is even more stupid. Regions are what is needed!

I swear I have seen people with "Wellington" in the past. But obviously major cities in NZ is not worth while for the relevant people.

OK I found it! Thanks! This choice is pretty new, yes? Well, the UK is a bit of a mess too. The Cities listed in my county, most of them aren't cities, and they are missing perhaps the most important one.

It's been there for a while. The New Zealand one doesn't have any cities at all. So stupid. Whoever Valve hired to supply them this list, they should ask for their money back. Never seen such a bizarre list of locations to choose from.

Hello? Anyone out there reading this that can pass onto the right department to have updated? We still have the most strange choices for people in New Zealand trying to add their State/Province...heck, I've gone as far as saying I'm in Stewart Island!
