Fun fact. Your screen size doesn't effect what it's going to look like, the resolution you are using does. Hence your 17" or 28" screen will have the same font look on 1920x1080.
Exactly. And this also happens to be the best reason to give us the option to set the font size ourselves, prefferably without having to alter text files that are constantly overwritten.
Forcing large text is nice for the people that couldn't read the old size, but horrible for those of us that had no issues with it.

There's not even consistency in the program. Why is the chat text so big when everything else, including the text entry box, the same size as it was. It looks sloppy and unprofessional.

I prefer the smaller text and will be editing the steam file. It's not really fair that those of us that had no problem with the text size before have to go behind-the-scenes to "change it back". Was there no file in the Steam folder before that the users who found the chat size too small could go in and edit?
