A really good idea? What kind of really good idea?

Best thing I can suggest is to try to find an indie developer with a title at least somewhat like your idea, and see if they have an email address for general inquiries, or if one of the leads has a public email address. From what I've seen, most good small developers keep in-touch with their fans,

Still, you may not want to go from, "I have an idea," to "Let's contact a developer!" like this. Build on your idea. work out /exactly/ what it would be like, how the game mechanics would work, a basic idea of the art style/soundtrack, character movement, etc. Write it all down, fill a few notebooks with notes on every last detail you can think of, before even thinking of talking to someone about seriously getting it made. A developer isn't going to be too interested if you hand over a sheet of paper with a diagram and a few words. You need to have this planned, to an almost insane degree. That's how people will know you're dedicated to it. amd that's how you'll get somewhere.
Great you have an idea for a video game, so does millions of other avid gamers.
I've read and heard so many stories that start up with a 'I have the greatest idea ever'... Almost none end well.

But if you really want to go forward, i advice to follow Metal Izanagi advice. You can't get a developer (or a group of) into a project by just a "I thought of a game about blowing up zombies & stuff".
The word you need to stick deep in your head is Professional
Turn your idea into a PROJECT. Just like a writer turns a idea into a full Movie Script, you need to develop yours.

People are going to invest their time on it, and time is money. How you present your project, and how developed it is is crucial to make someone take you seriously. The developers should take your project and start coding, if they need to stop, and start wondering things or asking you stuff ("Is the shotgun supposed to dismember enemies or just kill them?") the project is no complete.

It's an arduous and through work, If you are not the first one willing to devote his time into it, nobody else will.
Try seeing if anyone's interested in the Concepts section of Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=765&section=concepts
thank you all for the reply's.
I've been a gamer for since early 90's, and yep like most people i've had my fair share of "oh that would make an awesome game". but this time, i have actually already dont most of the leg work already before i posted this. i have a visual diary of around 100 or so pages detailing the game, how it would work. No unit or scenery drawings because i draw like a 1 year old. i've worked out most of the tech tree, and the general mechanics of the game.
like i said, what i need is help turning my random pages of scrawl into working code.

thanks again for your suggestions. if i have any luck ill post in here again.
