I would like Valve Store to ship to Brasil
Hi,

I've openened a ticket with the following content to steam support some months ago and unfotunatetly got a generic answer with slam door closing.

Seriously, Valve is highly loved in Brasil. It's merchandise shipping would be mostly welcome. There isn't any taxes complications over the merchandise categories available at the store.

I think Valve is missing a great deal here, and letting a huge community in fault.

The following was posted to steam support in 12/21/2012. Generic response recieved.

Hi,

I'm active member of the steam community for over 3 years and love Valve's games and merchandises.

There have been some time since I am waiting for the Valve Store to ship its merchandise to Brasil, however, I've never seen any sign of progress.

Is there any plans to ship Valve Store's merchandise to Brasil?

If there is any doubt over taxes or shipping methods, I can help you solve them, or find a way to make it available.

Just, please, don't answer me something like "Valve's Store Merchandise shipping is currently unavailable in country. Thanks for you patience."

Please, really, I can help you make it available and reach a profitable market, such as Brasil. Let me help you.

Thank you!

INternational shipping is very complicated and for the low volume of stuff Valve does they rely on 3rd parties to do the shipping. Their shipper doesn't ship to Brazil so neither does Vavle.

I read somewere once that because of tax reasons, valve won't ship to places like russia and maybe brazil falls into this. I could be talking rubbish but correct me if im wrong....

Well tak this for whatever it's worth. Valve time could mean anything. But the fact that the BRL is an official Valve currency may mean things are changing

There are some frieght forwarding services. I recall I shipped some stuff to a weird PO box in California (for an ebay thing) and I researched it and it was a freight forwarding thing to the Phillipines. I made sure I put in insurance + tracking + delivery confirmatoin, and told the buyeer that once it hits that PO Box I didn't care if 'you' didn't get the item.

Thank you Satoru. I will be looking into that.

Although this thread is quite old, this is still relevant. :( I really hope Valve can ship to Brazil some day. We long for the Steam Deck, the ValveVR, and etc. I was super sad for not being able to buy the Steam Controller back in the day, I'd have paid all the preposterous taxes to have it.

Brazil has a really big market for gaming and consoles, and while I could understand Valve not wanting to touch the hornet's nest that Brazilian Customs could be back then, the handling of imports in Brazil nowadays is a lot smoother than it was 10 years ago. Packages now arrive within 1~3 weeks instead of 4 months and a lot more people are used to buying online from abroad.

The import taxes could be collected in advance so the product won't get stuck in customs (if proper documentation is done), thus reducing the risk of a customer not anticipating the fees and giving up on the product after it's already in the country.

This thread was about a 3rd party merch store that has actually shuttered years ago and not about Steam hardware.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
