I wish it would say if a game can be played solo and/or multi. They always say multi, but not if I can go single player

Contact the Dev / Publisher and ask them to include it on the store page.
But useuly it is included on the right side of the store page.

The Features list is what the Steamworks partner fills out. If it is missing Single Player, ask them why.
