Option to disable What's New section in library
Valve, can we please, please , get at least the option to turn off the "What's New" updates section in the library? Please.

We have a whole News tab/page where these things land and I can browse at my leisure. It's a "feature" we never should have gotten anyway, but please give us the option to turn it off for the love of god.

With how they pushed for this...

You can count on it not being something we can opt out of without workarounds.

From what I can see in this post, that part I'm fine with. Patch notes only appear when selecting a game's library page and it actually useful information I'd like to see.

I'm talking about the intermittently appearing "tray" up top that randomly gets updates for all library games, when it feels like it, sometimes weeks or months late, that only go away if you manually dismiss each one or turn them off by game (which turns them off the news tab too).

More visibility for regular and major updates

When you post "Regular" or "Major" update posts, you're expecting that these are more exciting to a wider range of players and something worth sharing on your store page. So the "Regular" and "Major" type announcements in Steam will automatically show up in more places, including a bigger presence on your store page and at the top of players' Steam Library page.
