Notification setting for when a friend comments to another friends content

Recently, I became a "screenshot lover", actively following my Activity page and I have noticed something quite irritating.

When I comment to content (it can be anything like screenshots, artwork, videos etc.) published by a friend, afterwards in the near future, I will begin receiving notifications of other friends replying to my friends content that I replied to in the past. And based on my research, there is no way to stop this other than waiting a day. I'm not even subscribed to the content (or as Steam refers to - the "discussions").

So, in my point of view, I'm receiving notifications that only my friend should receive.

I'm really not interested in following the comments my friends receive. Please introduce the ability to enable or disable notifications of friends replying to other friends content. I'd suggest it to be disabled my default. Because this feature does not exist, I received hundreds of notifications daily that are uninteresting to me - I just want to receive notifications of friends commenting to my own content.

Currently, I workaround this issue by filtering notifications in my mind. You can figure out which comment belongs to you by reading the notification title as it will begin with "Your" if it belongs to you. I'd really prefer the ability for me to stop doing this altogether though with the new notification setting I am proposing.

Extra pings is something that annoys other users as Steam is a gaming platform with social elements, not a social media site.
