System Requirements
Just curious, the data you collect with the system information tool. Would it be possible to link the two together, as an estimation tool? it should be simple, All you would need would be a list or user generated lookup table of major comments and tick box formula is this component greater than requirement. While I know lots of people are totally at ease with their systems you are intending to release this to the wider public.
Also If you could compare the specs of your kit against your friends that would also be fairly good too. As buying and gifting games you can know ahead of time if the person has the right kit for what you intend.

Already proposed countless times. I'd advise you to make use of the search function.
The general consensus is that it's not accurate enough, as publishers doesn't release standardized info (try to define "minimum" and "recommended" for the publishers, as a start), the hardware and software combinations has an equal role to your hardware.
People would use it, fall into a potential error by buying a game marked as "playable" for them, and complain about getting refunds or plain badmouthing.
Invalid.

How comparing your specs to your friends would have to do with gifting ?
Any comparaison for "who get better specs ?" (as it will be used that way) seems pointless to me, or even plain impossible (define "better hardware").
As for gifting, see first point above.
Invalid, and I disagree.

This consensus is stupid. The same downsides apply to the system requirements, but they seem to be accepted by naysayers.

Blame the consensus makers, not me, since I couldn't care less about this.
