Please increase image upload size to 20MB so 4K screenshots can be pasted in chat!
Steam's chat allows uploading images up to 10MB in size. If you're on a 1080p or 1440p screen you can paste a screenshot of any game or other app simply by pressing the "PrintScreen" button on the top right of your keyboard and then CTRL+V in chat, very convenient!

However once you get to higher resolutions, notably 4KUHD (2160p), in most cases Steam will give you an error when trying to paste a PrintScreen/PNG screenshot because it's over 10MB in size, so you have to manually open up an image editing program of your choice, paste it there, export as JPEG, and then move (paste) the resulting file from your file explorer to the Steam chat window. This process is very annoying and time consuming.
It would be awesome if Steam chat's image upload size could be increased from the current 10MB to 20MB to accommodate for screens with higher resolutions such as 4K UHD. Thank you! :)

Start using png or jpg. No 4k image should be that size unless bmp.

I was talking about PNG. No offense but you seem to have no idea what you're talking about - the size of PNG image files depends heavily on the complexity of the image, and 4K screenshots in the PNG format (like captured by Nvidia GeForce's screenshot tool and the PrintScreen key in Windows) can easily get close to 20MB due to the lossless compression, and in very rare cases even exceed 20MB.

Here are a bunch of examples:

Most of these screenshots can not be posted in Steam's chat, unless you manually convert them to JPEG first.
The same is true for when you use the "PrintScreen" key on a high resolution display.
Would be really nice if they made it possible to directly post such screenshots into Steam chat just like you can on lower resolution displays...

They just lowed it from 8MB to 5MB, i highly doubt they have any plans of increasing it to 20MB.

He thought you meant the Artwork you upload to your Artwork section.

But who knows, they may have reduced the Artwork in chat too.

I think the latest version of the app (the separate Steam Chat app) has that feature.
