Division of Achievements: Base Game and DLC // Platinum Rework
It would be wonderful to have a system that divides achievements into separate subsections for the base game and each DLC. For example, in the game Cuphead, achievements from the base game could be grouped into one section, while another section could be dedicated to the Delicious Last Course DLC. Each section could have its own unique ribbon or badge awarded for completing all the achievements within that section. This would not only provide a clear distinction between the accomplishments in the base game and its DLCs but also give players a sense of completion for each part of the game. A similar system is already in place on PlayStation consoles, and it enhances the overall gaming experience by offering structured goals and rewards for each segment of the game.

It already exists, but nearly nobody uses it. They'd rather stick them all together so that achievement hunters have to buy everything to get 100%. They do that so they can make more money from those that absolutely have to have that perfect game.

What would be really wonderful is if people used the search (as weak as it is here), to see all the myriad of previous discussions on this topic that already provide the crucial bit of information that is needed to understand why it is the way it is:

Developers already have the ability to group and arrange achievements as they desire. There seems to be some question on whether they can separate the DLC from the main game or not (and thusly the related achievements).

Here is a thread literally from 4 days ago, which is the day before this OP.

Maybe it should be required for devs? I guess forcing someone to buy dlc for 100%'d the game is kinda cringe

It would be wonderful if we get a disable for that stuff.

Valve isn't going to do that. They really aren't concerned with how 3rd party developers want to implement achievements, or if they don't use them at all.

Dev/Pubs control that.
And there's a reason dev/pubs near universally choose to do it the way they do.
