(I'm not defending EAC, I personally can't stand it as I see it as a waste of resources and that its kernel level access, but its just a fact we have no idea what was hacked at the moment to give them the access they had. If it turns out it was EAC, and it was because of the kernel access, well thats not going to bode well for other anti-cheats that also use kernel level access)
Your best option if you want to do this right here and now is use google and search for "games on steam that use easy anti-cheat"
There should be a list there somewhere.
https://areweanticheatyet.com/?search=easy+anti-cheat&sortOrder=&sortBy=
But regardless of whether it's apex or EAC, I'd rather be on the safe side while their figuring out who exactly got hacked.
I fully understand. I think I only have a couple of games with EAC, so I'm not going to launch them, in fact, I'm uninstalling them till we have some answers on if it was via the game or the anti-cheat or some other method. The only reason why I have those games is because EAC was added after I had bought them.
Course for all we know, we could already be infected depending on how long these people were hacking. If they have had access for like months without anyone knowing and just waited, that means everyone who has installed an update and ran an infected game or ran an game with an infected EAC are already compromised.
I really don't want to reformat yet again, and also change all my passwords (thats a pain in the butt itself) but I will if need be.
I am now in a situation that i cant update my Windows 11 because of this bs EAC.
From what ive found, here is a list of all games which are using EAC:
https://steamdb.info/tech/AntiCheat/EasyAntiCheat/
Because of lack of the clear recognition which games are using EAC directly in Steam, i now need to search these games one by one, then manually uninstall EAC itself.
It would be much easier if there was a filter for this!
Considering Valve won't leverage their power to ban third-party DRM/kernel-level anticheats, then this is the next best thing to ask for.
