Option to Not Include Games in Windows Add/Remove Programs
I've been looking and I don't see a thread for this yet (sorry if there is, or if this is already an option and I'm just being dumb and can't figure it out).

I remember back in the day, Steam used to not place an entry for installed games in the Windows add/remove programs list, but I guess at some point along the way that changed...

I know I can remove them with CCleaner if I really wanted to, but that's such a hassle. I'd love it if Steam had the option not to add them to the list in the first place.

I'm migrating my OS and software to a new hard drive, so having 100+ games in the list is making it difficult to figure out what I need to really worry about reinstalling. That's why I thought to suggest it.

Thanks!

Question: how exactly is it bad to have the games there? It's not like this list is limited or stuff.

Like I said, it's because I'm doing some system maintenance. I need to sort out what software I have to find installers or discs for, and the list can only be sorted alphabetically, or by company, size, or date; none of which group the games together. I know that by installing Steam, all of the games associated with it can be managed within the Steam client. So Steam is the only thing I need to install. The uninstall links within the Windows list just open Steam anyway, so it's a bit redundant as well.

So no, it's not because the list is limited, but Steam used to not put links there originally, and I prefered it that way. I'd just like to see it as an option.

Thanks for asking!

I KNOW this is a dead post, but this link here gets rid of all those entries where the games are in a batch file:
