Add a zoom in/out feature to steam client
Text in the store is too small. It seems to be browser based. Can't you just enable the zoom in zoom out feature (Ctrl +, Ctrl -).

I tried the "Big Picture", but the solution there seems to have been to remove every bit of text you can. I want to see the text, I just want to see it bigger.

A workaround you can try in the meantime is using skins made specifically to enlarge Steam (store, forums, etc included). Here's an example:

Enlarged Steam UI[drive.google.com]

To install, extract it into your Steam\skins\ folder and activate it in Steam's Interface settings.

By default, this skin enlarges nearly all parts of Steam's webcontent by 25%, just like when zooming in on webpages in your browsers.

The zoom level can be customized by changing the value of the --Zoom variable inside the skin's webkit.css (found in Enlarged Steam UI\resource\webkit.css). Just open it with any text editor (e.g. Notepad) and near the top, you'll see something like this:

--Zoom: 1.25;

You can change that to anything. If you set it to 1.5, it'll enlarge everything by 50%, if set to 2, it'll double the size of things, etc. If you change the value though, you'll need to restart Steam to see the effect.

Please note this zoom only affects the webcontent appearing in Steam and within the in-game overlay, such as the store, the forums, game pages, etc. The client UI frame isn't zoomed, but its fonts are increased by 3 points to compensate for that.

Thanks, this helps a lot.
It's a shame Valve doesn't seem to bother with our requests here.

Thank you for this.

Hey Steam. What the hell? Some of your customers are getting older. Throw us a bone please.

FFS Valve you're richer than God and you've still not implemented a zoom. Special bonus point for the fact that your clientele are gamers and so more likely to be running high resolutions.

Also whilst we're on the topic of your failings the android app is awful.

Ironically, I just found cloud gaming solutions like LiquidSky give fully zoomable steam on android devices with touchscreens.

Playing steam games and accessing all steam client features, as well as full windows desktop on android devices like Shield Tablet using Shield Controller is an absolutely awesome experience.

Using a stylus helps a lot when accessing steam client features and is actually super slick way of using steam client.

So the steam client is fully zoomable, on android touchscreen devices. Go figure.

I would just need to admit that my eye sight is fading too to a degree that I have to get up and walk towards the Screen to see where exactly this tiny frame with the discussion is hiding.
I wonder how that would pan out in 4k? Luckily I have not yet stepped up. Is that then a slightly discoloured strip in the centre of the screen? :Sadclot:

Hi from 2025! My display have 18k resolution, I buy new Tesla with range over 3000 km per one charge. But Steam client still does not have a zoom-in/out function! And PutIn is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ president, again.

This would be awesome and it is insane that it's not already an option but good luck getting Steam/Valve to pay attention. They do what they want and ignore their clients while we have to modify our hosts file to stop them from doing things like force updating a heavily modified single player game (thus breaking saved games with 100's if not 1000's of hours of play).
