Stop the "Waiting for network" screen on startup
It's really annoying because I load the web browser and am about to type something or select a tab that I already have open and this window appears and stays there for about 10 seconds before closing.

It never used to do this so why is it not possible to stop it from appearing?

I've tried adding a parameter -silent but that has made no difference whatsoever.

I preferred the previous version if I'm honest. It worked really well for me without any issues at all.

I agree. It should be removed, super annoying and provides no value and no useful information.

I would prefer it if it showed a notification if it couldn't connect to the network.

I don't understand why it's shown when it wasn't before.

Agreed this is annoying. If this is not patched out within a week, I'm going disable Steam at startup.

I've registered a support ticket re this issue.

I couldn't work out how to raise a support ticket on this issue. Thank you :)
Agreed - this splash screen sucks. Ditch it.

I was hoping this is an option I can turn off. I can't believe they just suddenly forced such an unnecessary change.

What exactly is the purpose of this stupid thing?

I wish I knew.... more information to the user but I think it should be an alert if it can't connect to the servers.

To me it's like a doctor coming round every day to tell you you're fit and well, waking you up to do it as well (v annoying).

Yep this is an annoying and unnecessary splash screen that serves no purpose other than to force me to stop Steam loading at startup... change it devs!

I'm glad there's a thread on this already. Please get rid of this. It's unusual and intrusive. I boot up my computer to do work and the Steam client should quietly sort itself out as it always has. This unwelcome splash screen adds nothing of value and serves as a distraction."Waiting for network?" Ok, well every other app that requires network access seems to be fine, Steam, so what's your problem?

I know. I hope the devs are reading this thread because it's annoying so many people, which is why I started the thread :)

It's like a little kid that's not getting the attention "look at me, look at me .... oh you're looking now... okay I'll carry on with my work".

I don't complain about this type of thing very often, but this popup needs to go away........may as well install adds with the popup.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 due to Steam becoming EOL... never had this issue in 7. Please fix this. The workaround is to disable startup which is not ideal. This screen is a terrible UX and completely unnecessary.

I was hoping the latest release would fix this or at least give an option to disable it but nope.

DEVS !!!!! PLESASE SORT IT OUT !!!!! WE DON'T WANT IT !!!!!
