Revert to the old UI
This new ui is slow (it takes 30sec to close the app) The font makes my eyes bleed and new menu system is to disorganized and just plain awful!

Something went wrong while displaying this content. Refresh

I really want to add to this as well, the new UI isn't working for me at all,
very performance heavy and feels unresponsive

The new Steam interface update broke my ability to take screenshot of all my non-steam games. Before the update (yesterday June 14th 2023) all non-steam games were working flawlessly with the steam overlay & screenshots. Right after this update, only Steam games works with Steam overlay & screenshots, but none of my non-steam games (linked to and started with Steam). I double checked all screenshot settings and they are correct (see attached). I don't like it at all. Is there a way to revert to the previous version? Thanks.

You can add the -vgui parameter to the Steam shortcut properties to get the previous interface back, I hope this fixes the issue.

FWIW - from my own experience with it, you'll still get the exit screen prompt, but it does close off a lot quicker.

I'm very unhappy with the current UI and wish they would roll back. I know they won't, but they really should. I'm tempted to go through the steps it will take for me to roll it back and disable the updates. I know it's not ideal but this version is so bad that I'm willing to put up with the problems that a roll back and forcing the client to stop updating could cause.

Has Valve ever reverted any ui update?.

I don't believe so. They will fix the bugs but visual design is unlikely to change,

They haven't ever reverted any updates of any nature.

That doesn't work for everything. Achievements page is broken on some resolutions, as that used the absolutely abysmal new bloatware of the UI.

as if the original steam UI wasn't buggy and performance-hungry enough with their shoddy Chromium implementation (Steam browser, as well as the entire client itself, as it is essentially just a browser)... This makes it extremely tempting to transition to piracy, same as Discord's updates pushed me to Matrix:mountandbladebird:

I second this. the new UI is a total pain in the ass.
I'm not talking about the graphical design but about its usabillity which is way worse now

Notifications are less clearly arranged, and somhow Valve in it's indefinite wisdom decided to remove the navigation function of the Mouse side buttons now.

That's is really uncomfortable if you want to read several topics in a row in the forums.
It should work like every other browser on the market, like it did before.

Now you need way more mouse clicks for browsing in the forum.
Terrible UX, so I'm switching to a regular Internetbrowser now. Bopefulles Valve doen't mess this up as well.

can you use Steam in a regular browser to launch games or are you only referring to forums-browsing? Would be awesome if the Steam client could just be replaced with a barebones launcher with authentication. I've no need for all the other nonsense when all I use it for is to launch Avorion, Stellaris and DRG, and purchase annoying Stellaris DLCs which I could purchase in any browser.
