Steam Shows Email Address This is Not Good

Hi looks like Steam appearance changed i have some concern about this
please if anyone from Steam and valve seeing this report and bring a solution to this

you know . now Steam shows email address from settings -> account .this is not good for account safety

so if someone can access one steam account will be able to see email address too

please bring a hide option to mail just like phone number . and do not let to see email just like phone number if one forget then steam can send sms
there is no reason to show email address to owner

If they can see your email address, that means they have access to your account.

Your account page has always shown that. Nothing the past decade has changed in that regard.

Thanks for your reply however i hope maybe one day someone from valve development team see this post . you know at least 15-30% of people that using same password in both steam and mail this are just probabilities . if one account hacked there is no reason to allow hacker to see mail address too . just like phone number why they hide phone number then ? i think they must hide mail too

Perhaps people should use different passwords for different websites. I have seen posts here where there are those who somehow do not remember the email they have associated with their steam account as they have created new emails and since then have forgotten about the original email. I have also seen posts where an account is hijacked due to negligence and the associated email is changed, the account holder is unaware. In both of these scenarios it would be nice to be able to see what email is associated with the account. In regards to the hijacking, that can be prevented with proper account security which in this day and age there is more than enough sources to learn how to accomplish this.

it's a good idea.
it makes sense to obscure some of the email.
many other places do this, due to the risk of a compromised account.

If you are re-using any password between any different account, you should consider changing them all to use a unique password for each account - specifically because of the reasons you mentioned above. (If you got phished, you probably would have given out your email as well in the very same manner anyway)

They hide your phone number, because it can be used to recover your account - knowledge of your phone number can be used in the account recovery process, but via email it is different - the email alone cannot be used to recover the account without a lengthy process of providing many pieces of evidence to prove ownership (such a piece of evidence might include your phone number) - which is why they hide the phone number.

Having a phone number associated with your account will help you recover your account if it is compromised, or if you've lost your password, access to your email account, or your Steam Guard mobile authenticator.

Since it is your account, it makes sense to show you your info - there's no real reason to hide your own info from you.

this is just a suggestion the thing is steam its not taking easy about security . even google not letting to enter security settings without verification

. just one example if you need to format your phone to update android version for just 2 hour you must disable steam guard right ? then must wait 15 days( 2 weeks) in order to use market again . in past it was 7 days then they increased it 15 days tomorrow maybe 30 days ! why ? so many suffering from this

the reason base steam support is if one account hacked real owner may not understand his or her account hacked since may not login every day . 75-85 % of people don't like this but must deal with this because of 25 -15 % of people . i am sorry for saying this but if one logins every 2 week and it takes 2 week to understand his or her account hacked then they deserved it
me and so many don't like to wait 15 days but who cares

its about security . its just about probabilities so when there is so many annoying rules in steam just because security why they show email address ? every body knows own mail if
one person forgot that then steam can show after verification not just like open door
