SteamOS -Virtual Machine/Bare Metal Compatiblity-
SteamOS sounds awesome; First complaint I see is "How do I windows?" my idea/project is to create a simple framework for migrating the users' current windows OS to a Virtual machine to install SteamOS to another virtual machine and to have both running simultaneously with an easy to remember quick switch between the two.
A: backup current windows install
B: Install (on your favorite distro) a bare metal virtual machine host
C: Create a windows virtual machine using backup image
D: Create a SteamOS virtual machine
E: provide instructions/executable scripts capable of managing all prerequisites and configuration modifications to allow a simple and seamless integration of both windows and SteamOS on a single machine

Primary features: quick 3 key switch between SteamOS and Windows; Video card passthrough (VM side of things) to allow maximum performance (shiny graphics you expect for the hardware you own) in both gaming and windows. Simple setup: double click and wait, then you're done.

This is also kind of the ultimate boss key...

... why not just have steamos in the virtual machine, rather than going through the halssle of migrating your current OS to a virtual machine

Also if you're already installing a linux distro, you can just install BPM there....

could you have a bare metal virtual machine that shares hardware but set up and easy way to switch to windows or to have shortcuts to games in windows. if you could get the games to show up like normal windows that could be interesting right

Just drop AdwareOS altogether and move on to the 21st century.

GNU/Linux already runs games better than M$ trash even without the dedicated care by game developers and card manufacturers. The faster we get them to focus on GNU/Linux, the quickier we can enter a new era of more sustainable and efficient OSs for personal use such as gaming.

This is same as running virtual, stript down 2GB version of Win10.iso just to install Steam and update games on network drive that is Win7 Steam games folder.
And then use blind man glasses on Win7 SteamClient.

No man this is illegal
I am giving money to Steam so i want LEGAL solution

You just answered a 10 year old thread that has nothing to do with what you have been whinging about.

Get. a. grip.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
