What If Steam Offered Physical Collectibles for Digital Games?

I’ve been thinking about how much I miss the physical side of gaming,
like holding a Nintendo cartridge or flipping through a game manual.
Digital games are super convenient, but they don’t give us that same tangible connection.

So, here’s an idea: What if Steam offered optional physical collectibles for digital games?

Imagine: You buy a game on Steam, and you have the option to get a Premium Gaming Card with it or vice versa. These cards would have cool artwork, a code to download the game, and could be displayed like mini art pieces or collectibles.

Steam can't offer anything, because it's the developers and publishers that are actually selling their products. If you want a physical copy of something and a physical copy exists (this is up to the developers to sell them, which is unlikely to happen), then you'll have to go to your games store for them.

Steam is a digital distribution platform, it deals only in digital goods.

Ask the developers if those games to offer such a thing, it's not valves place to offer swag for other developers games.

Valve used to let a 3rd party site create and sell merchandise but that site stopped closed. 4fansbyfans was Valve merchandise partner for around a decade but after welovefine purchased them years ago, 4fans also closed shop December 2022.
