more and more often false opinions about games appear, which is why they are losing popularity... they are unfairly rated. One such example is The First Descendant, my favorite game, which was the victim of bad "reviews". people who played for 0.2-2 hours... mostly fans of "Warframe" who created accounts just to give the game a bad rating, such behavior is reprehensible and unacceptable! How can you rate a game with a Steam account level of 0... or playing the game for 18 minutes... zero honesty and truth in this. I came up with an idea on how to solve the problem of the above and many other situations once and for all... first - if the game is possible to complete, that is, it has up to 40-50 hours of story, set the option to rate after completing the entire game (the estimated storyline of the game is 40 hours, so you can rate it from the 40th hour) secondly, if the game cannot be completed, set that you can only rate after 100 hours. This will significantly avoid a situation in which players can create accounts as many times as they want just to post opinions... Option 3, additional to the previous ones, is to set 1 opinion per IP address, best regards and I count on quick actions in this direction because as a streamer of my favorite game, I feel obliged to publicize this problem that has affected The first descendant.

2nd - someone writes that he can't beat the boss because he has the same element as the boss and doesn't deal any damage to him... in the game you can change the elements on the weapon... so it's his fault and not the game's fault that he can't cope

Then it's a complete non-issue if you believe a few out of 600,657 total reviews at 87% positive don't align with your opinion of the game.

Have you reported them? As thats all you can do. But they have to be very clearly lying, just not "they are saying bad things about a game I like" lying. Just remember, If you keep reporting people just because they are saying bad things about the game you play, it could get your ability to report stuff revoked.

As long as you have people able to write something, you are ALWAYS going to have problems with the review system because people are ALWAYS going to write things, you don't like about games you do like.

Even if there was a system of just thumbs up or thumbs down with no written reply, as long as its negative for a game you like you are going to complain.

Then report it. Valve can not review every single review that is left for every single game. There are around 350ish people that work for Valve.

There are over 50,000 to 100,000 games on Steam.

There are over 35+ million active users a day, over 140+ million active users a month, over 1 billion accounts in total. Even if there was 10,000 people who were dedicated to looking at reviews they could never keep up.

The above example is a very clear example of racist and homophobic remarks which are NOT ALLOWED and should be reported. But the only way Valve knows about them is for them to be reported.

But don't expect it to be instantly removed, again think of the number of active users there are, along with how many games there are, and how many people work at Valve.




The system is fine as it is, people need to learn that just because they like a game, doesn't mean the majority of others don't like the same game.

Again this is just another "the game I like got bad reviews, do something about it" rant.

So, if I played TFD on PS5 for ~20h, determined it to be the P2W, microtransaction-focused, Nexon-patented drop rate skewed trash it is, then decided to post a review on Steam where I have zero hour tracking, I'd be posting a fake review?

Guess what? TFD is a Warframe/Destiny hybrid clone using Nexon's literally patented drop skewing system, laden with Nexon's usual "incentives" to pay instead of playing content, and the only reason I haven't posted a negative review on Steam is because it's so bad that I don't even care to take the time. But this thread is making me reconsider that.

The game wasn't in a good state at the start. It really wasn't. I know because I'm still playing it. I also have 4000 hours in Warframe.

It wasn't unfairly reviewed.

I'm sorry but the story is god awful in the game. There was that one Jeremy NPC I believe that stole the ironheart to go off and do something with it. I thought that for once maybe it would lead to some awesome new army that was going to be used against the enemy. But nope he had absolutely nothing. Died to a single enemy even though he could just keep teleporting away.

Also him betraying you could be seen a mile away. I stopped caring about the story after that point

Such review system will only ever favor bad games. Imagine now buying a complete mess of a game but you have to spend 50+ hours before you can put a review on it. Negating your refund rights and being stuck with the game you'll never play again.

You wouldn't get reviews at all on these games too unless some people just want to troll.

When it comes to reviews, there's no such thing.

You could make an objective review, but it'd be something like "this game was released on [date] by [developer] and I have played it". Anything actually useful in a review is subjective, because otherwise there'd only be one review per game.

Just because you don't agree with those opinions doesn't mean they're not true.

You really should learn to accept that other people simply have a different view.

Anyway, if I don't like a game after 10 minutes, I should be able to say so. And if you or anyone else doesn't like that, they can use the playtime filters in the review section to display the reviews you like to see.

Though threads like these just show that "playtime" is a severely overrated metric. People should really stop attributing so much value to it, like seriously.
