They have a lot of propagandists defending their garbage around here, so I figure rather than let them run free and spread misinformation, they should have to be labeled as employees of Irdeto before posting. If they don't, then Irdeto should face harsh consequences for spreading misinformation online on the behalf of their performance-impacting middleware.

Yep. I'm not an industry worker. As well, all I was asking for is a simple badge, not a harassment campaign.

I agree with you that gamers are vitriolic asses at points. However, this suggestion came from a place of wanting corporate transparency from Valve and all whonare partnered with them. There is no equivalence between private users and business partners with a potential agenda.

As for names? I am Garbage. You are Leonardo da Pinchi. I am not asking for Magnus the Irdeto Employee; I am asking that Ballergamer2026 or whatever have it be known that he has corporate vested interest before posting on the behalf of that interest.

Youtubers are required to say they are sponsored before advertising a product. Same principle.

As a quick aside, bar the accusations, I really appreciate everyone's input in this thread. Leonardo especially gets my respect for partially changing my mind on this matter. He's right in that harassment may pose a massive issue.

If people are spreading misinformation, then address what they're saying on its own merits. What you're asking for is a way to dismiss what someone is saying without having to address it, which is not how good-faith discourse works.
