Blocked people?
Blocked people should no longer be able to view the profile of the people who blocked them! Currently, even if I block someone, they can see the profile and details of the person who blocked them, except for private profiles. It is not ok and this should change. A blocked person should no longer be able to view that profile!!! What is the point of the blocking option if the blocked person can see the profile and its details?

Couldn't get just log out and view your profile on a browser? Or just use an alt?

Privating the profile is the only way to prevent that, anyway, so it's the only real solution.

All they would have to do is log out of the account and boom your blocking would be pointless. Right now with your account being private I can only see your username, nothing else.
This is also why I decided to keep my profile private. Although I blocked 2 people for personal reasons, they could see my profile and details, which was absurd since I had blocked them! The only solution was to switch the profile to private, although I don't want that. .. I think Valve should apply the lock option as it does on Facebook, Instagram, etc. A blocked profile can no longer find or view your profile...

Ok, by you don't need to be logged in to browse the steam community... As pointed out, several times.

It's a public forum and community.

Just block and ignore them, if you don't want to make your profile private then don't do it. Don't let folk force you into something you don't want to do, they win that way. Make your profile public and just ignore them and anyone else you don't want to pay attention too.

Just remember it is only pixels on a monitor screen, they can't actually do anything to you, the worst they can do is slap their monitor and hope yours wobbles. :spazwinky:

As has been said in many other threads that you have been part of, what you want is pointless because there are many ways around it.

As long as you want to keep it public in any way, nothing is going to stop people from being able to see as there will always be a way to see. Thats never going to change as there is no way to change that fact of life.

So make your account friends only or private. Thats the only way you are going to stop people who are not on your friends list from seeing your profile.

OP what stops them from logging out of their account, or using alt account to then see your profile again?

If you don't want others to see your profile why not make it friends, or private only?

I'm gonna say it, just make it private and call it a day. The amount of nosy people eager to lurk where they aren't welcome and spy on each other for barely any reason seems staggering. There really should be at least an option to block various means of communication like unwanted friend requests, but alas... seems unlikely at the moment.

If you block people, they can't send you invites.

BUT yes, you should be able to turn off invites from people, but as part of that, you should not be able to send out invites either. And so people just can't flip it on, and off again to send out invites, there should be delays. Turn it on and you can't send one for a month, but people can send you invites right away. Turn it off and people can still send you invites for a month, but you can't send invites right away. This would help combat any kind of abuse that might come from this ability.

That shouldn't be much of an issue. I never bothered to send any friend request on this platform, because... what for? I like it sitting at zero. I just wish I could make 100% sure nobody and I mean 'nobody' will interrupt my gaming experience.

Why not just disable notifiacations? Can't be bother if have that turn off.

But yeah reason why people add others is for varies of reasons, some people like to add others, some want good play buddies, maybe they want new friends to chat with, and so on the world is filled with all kinds of people.

You're asking the impossible. All they need do is logout to see it.

It would give a lot of users a false sense of security, thinking blocked user can't see their profiles when "with one simple trick" they can.

Personally I'd go with function that pops rude gesture and few cuss words for whoever 'tries' to add me, but I'm trying to be POLITE and mere disabling of friend requests should do.

Besides... None of those reasons would work in my case, socializing be damned. I'm not going to take pity on someone because of their meaningless need to socialize.

Wouldn't really serve a purpose since people can easily get around it. It's not like they can interact with your profile anyway.
