In-game Overlay Changes Languages via Google Search (fun, not really.)

So I'm not 100% of what I did, and it was only temporary for that session. But I was performing a Google search for something which pointed back to the Steam Community Guide pages (in Dutch). However, when visited this made everything Steam-related also in that language for the duration of that session for the Overlay.

After doing so, any attempt to change my language proved rather futile and I have a feeling that if I decided to visit another page similarly in Russian or another language my overlay options would reflect that as well.

You can use the top-right top-down menu next to your avatar and hover the third option : this gives you a list of all the languages, and hopefully yours too.

It is also possible to add ?l=<language> at the end of the link to go back to normal. As for indexing links with such a parameter, it may better be addressed to Google, as I don't really know how Valve could correct it from their side.

Steam does recognize my account which should ultimately over-ride what language preference I do have set. Even if I could read my options I'm sure digging around to set it back would prove more frustrating than it's worth.

Valve can correct it on their side by simply having visited Steam pages not set the cookie language preference which I suspect is what happened.
