Please Valve, add this option. I don't need any friend requests. Got spammed with invites from people I don't even know. If I need more friends, I will add them myself. If someone wants to add me, they can always write "add me" and a reason on my profile wall.

The X sent you a friend requests pop-ups are annoying (especially when in game)
The green notification on top right is annoying too, because there may be more useful notifiers. Every time someone adds me, why should I make 3 clicks just to ignore / block him? I want it to make automatically for me (and not get any notifications at all)

Sounds like a bad compromise for me. I don't want compromises. Also, how will it help anyway? Private profiles get spammed by invites too.

I doubt it will happen. sorry man. I already read the stuff. Still...you have to do all that yourself. This isn't the first thread made about this and I doubt Valve will change the current system due to a recent wave of phishers. I don't necessarily think it is a bad option, I just doubt that will happen. You can always set your profile to private sometimes you have to make a compromise. If you don't want the invites you can try that.

But I do agree with OP. the friends invite spams are annoying and something should be implemented. I think a simple implementation of adding a reason to why you want to become friends will take off the “spam’ish” feeling and personalize it more.

Nice... I already said it wasn't a bad idea so cool down. No...No it isn't like saying "Don't like racism move to a different state"...like at all. If you play multiplayer games with items you generally have to deal with phishers or bots and there is no 100 percent cure for them. My bad for having a different opinion. To each their own.

I don't want to deal with the bots either...know what I do? I don't play those games at all and it is working briliantly. But I know you wouldn't like that suggestion so I provided another.
