Package deals: "Here's what you save" should consider what's already in the library.
If there's a package deal, the package details page shows all the games/DLCs that are contained, and at the bottom there's info of how much money you save by buying the package instead.

If some of the things contained are already in the library (which IS shown in the package details list), then it doesn't help me to buy those again via the package, hence they should not count for money saved.

Yea wouldn't it be nice to be able to convert the items you already have in your library from the package into a gift coupon? :rbat:
That would be great, but it's asking quite a bit more from Valve than just showing the *actual* money saved info.

we're you thinking about say being able to remove certain items in the bundle then have them automatically calculated for a custom list of "acual " money saved? I may be lost lol :rbat:

Yes, this is a requested feature in the past as well.

I think the "Enhanced Steam" plugin offers this feature.
When you buy a bundle where some items are already in the library, those will just be ignored while purchasing - they are lost. All I want is: The sum at the bottom that says "This is how much you save" should ignore those items, too, just like the purchase itself does.

Yes. Like this:

That is the "Valve Complete Pack" on my store page using Enhanced Steam, with the "What you really save" option. Notice it says "-0.08" and is Red. That means I would waste money by buying it since I already have all the games. I would spend less by buying the games I don't have individually.

Thanks, TirithRR, I'll consider using Enhanced Steam. But I think it would be fair by Valve to implement this in the store itself. I assume they have this on their list somewhere, anyway, and it'll just pop up one day just like the "in library" icons etc. - it feels broken that the store practically claims "You do save X money." when the user already knows: "All those in library will be lost. I don't save money for them."

This feature *belongs* into Steam.

I'm just saying it's been requested before, and Steam has been very slow in implementing any changes like that. Steam only just recently added a tag on the game in the store if you already owned it, or it's on your Wishlist.

It shouldn't be too hard as it is basically just moving up the part where they warn you about games already in your library when you reach the point where you select if you are buying it for yourself or as a gift
