uPlay has anounced change username feature on there platform

Hello community members as title says this was done 4 days ago and this is very good idea now my question stands out if uPlay just made this change and even origin has it why shouldn't STEAM do it? You people from steam didnt care about this but now i think you will think about this as near future update because let's be honest for such big company like steam this kind of update is not that hard to make. I hope all of you (who are reading up to this point) got my idea I know this isnt the first threat about this but still i wanted to say this. Peace out ;)

I guess it really comes down to is it worth spending the time adding the ability to change account name or better if they work on other ideas/features?

The different between Uplay and Origin is that every Steam account is unique, besides everyone can see your username on Uplay and Origin when you change it. And you can always change your nickname/SteamID on Steam and people can't see your account name anyway.

Which from a security perspective is better. Having a display name different than your service username is safer.

In any case, account username change opens a totally different can of worms. People already make a mess remembering their unique username, imagine if it could be freely changed.

"I want to recover my account, wich ONCE had 'DarkAce' as username." which one should be recovered? The one named "DarkAce" now, the one who was called that a month, three months or a year ago??

The difference in uPlay is that your username was your display name

That isn't the case with Steam so changing your login name has very little benefit but has a gigantic down side of breaking basiaclly everything.
