every time i get disappointed for not being able to do that.
(and it is houre played before the review was written right?)
so either a filter or a sort by hours played would still be better than nothing where someone would just open the game and then put up a review
So yes, people will go to...interesting lengths, to make their stuff visible.
Then there's the fact that hours basically don't tell a picture, many people idle games just to get the card drops , not actually playing them.
Reading positive and negative will give you an idea what people like and what people disliked.
I wouldn't consider this to be useful nor will it give a huge change to the review system.
I've used it on over 30 games and none has taken longer than 3 hours, even the large card set games.
This. Stop relying on automated systems to aid you in something that you can sort yourself. Your eyes will tell you if the review is worth it or not within seconds, even if you haven't read the whole thing.
BUt yeah, there is no 'amagic' perfect review. The thing about user reviews is that different users will give slightly diufferent reviews. The idea is to pick out the commonalities to get a general picture. THe negatives will give you an idea of what irked people who bought the game and the positives will give you an idea what made them happy.
How long does it take for you to know you're eating a ♥♥♥♥ sandwich?
Negative reviews will invariably have shorter playtimes because who i gouing to spend 20 hours in a game they do not like?
Just look at how long the review is.
Ignore the ones with fewer than, like, five lines of text.
The longer ones usually say something meaningful. The shorter ones, much less likely.
The IM remark was not directed at you, at the person right above my post.
