The Alt-Key for Hotkeys for Steam
I know that, for some applications, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, users can press "Alt" to bring up hotkeys to make navigation faster in cases where they are too lazy to use a mouse or do not even have a mouse (I think), so why not apply this to Steam as well?

I already thought of what some hotkeys would be:

Steam View Friends Games Help

This would be okay so that we could navigate without our mice or just to go faster. It is OKAY without the function, but it would just be cool to have it.

I always use hotkeys as much as possible, since they can speed up notably pretty much everything in a long term. Steam has a few hotkeys (on the library, with a game selected, if you start writing, it will select the first game which starts with the letters you wrote, like in Windows. If you press ctrl+f, you can use the search function to use it as a filter. alt+left/right gets you to the previous/next page you visited. When browsing the forums, ctfl+f brings the search function. Alt+intro starts the big picture mode, etc), but I would love to see more hotkeys, like you said, to go to the library, show the friends list, etc.

  • Other hotkeys for example are: MMB when you click something on the website side (opens up another window).

  • If you hold down CTRL as you click items on your Library, you can select multiple at once.
  • If you hold down CTRL and Shift when you click the first and the last item, you can select all between.

  • F12 also opens up the webconsole; which won't work.

  • I use CTRL+(SHIFT)+TAB to switch between chat window tabs
  • I use CTRL+W to close chat window tabs.

The backspace-key also takes us to previously viewed pages, but more hotkeys are never a problem to have.

Also it would be much easier to operate with certain voice command software, but that's just how i ended up here. I thought knowing valve they would have support for our techsters to play with how they use the interface to all their games. Should be fun and fully customizable. It would even be totally appropriate to have settings to change the keyboard controls in the options, like a game.
