Feature ideas to reduce "choice paralysis," where you just stare at your game list for 30 minutes and do something else.
Everyone I know with a sizeable library has this happen at some point or another, some people having it happen more than others. You just scroll through your games looking for something to play (Typically when there's not a hot new game out, which sort of limits your choice mentally to the new game.) and the overabundance of choice is just too much.

I think Steam could do with a game roulette feature, where you can just have it choose a game for you at random, or you can input tags/genres and have it choose from something like that randomly. (i.e. I want to play a platformer... but can't choose since I have 25+!)

Alternatively, or perhaps additionally, you could have a selection of 3 games daily that have a daily achievement or reward or something (Something minor, just a little incentive.) to really have people focus down on their libraries. This would have the added effect of getting people to potentially play parts of their library that they've never touched before!

When you have an automated system to narrow down your choices, you're more likely to play, when you have a little incentive on top of that, you're even MORE likely to play, and if you're more likely to play, you're more likely to develop additional interests and buy games similar to the ones you've been enjoying. I think this idea could help solve the choice overload problem and therefore increase playtime in games which I think would also eventually lead to increased sales. What kind of impact? Hard to say, but I know I'd be delighted to have such a feature.

Good idea. It would require Valve to implement tags in user libraries, but that's something they should have done before adding them to the store, anyway.

This seems interesting and creative.

It'd make it easier for me to make decisions of what to play, if I could sort my library by genre, using the genre tags in the store.
