You believe some scammer is going to be able to gather that many followers and then try to get their accounts through scamming? They have better luck through normal trading.
I was talking about what posted a few pages back already where you see the curator (horrible word btw) on the store page with a yada yada comment and with 'read full review here'. If you click on it you are being send to the youtube page and not a written review. Besides, I think its stupid for them being so prominent on the store pages while there are laready user reviews that tell me way more then a popularity 'curator' with his money making youtube video's. If they just add an option to disable it everyone will be happy.
Steam Reviews was a step up. No longer were recommendations for friends only; I no longer had to rely on whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IGN or MetaCritic was bribed to say. I could read what its actual players were saying, and while it wasn't perfect, it was a major improvement.
Now we get Curators, which are somehow more important than Reviews. These Review Groups seem to be reserved for those who are either big YouTube letsplayers or those who get people to subscribe by giving them free stuff.
No longer is the customer valued; it once again narrows down to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ internet celebs.
You know those Box quotes that are often near the top and gives scores while having a line to describe how awesome the game is.
Also on the top list it seems like there are at most 3 people that does some lets play. That'd be The Cox List, FRANKIEonPCin1080p and The Nerd³ Boxset.
TB doesn't do lets play and have helped a lot of Indie companies to survive because that's what his channel is most about. The others are either from a site or just a group that have had the luck of getting a lot of followers quickly.
So how are they "intended" to work?
By annoying us? 'cause, um, that's all they seem to do.
Thus why I compared it vaguely to popup ads. People have this weird idea sometimes that if you annoy someone enough with something, they will just say ok or buy it as a result. Seems completely ridiculous to me.
All they get is a small quote on the store page and that's it.
If something this small annoys you then that is more about you than Steam.
From where I'm sitting, it looks like you're trying to tell people that "their opinions are wrong". I can't see a positive angle on that.
Arguing over opinions is a fruitless endeavor; mostly your posts serve to help keep this topic on the first page here. As far as I'm aware, this'd be the longest current thread in its section. I'm not sure whether that's totally the result of your actions, but it seems to me you're just fanning the flames, yeah? If truly a non-issue, it'll die down on its own.
Aside from the big ass undesirable block on the main store page that pushes the actual content listing down below, as I've been explaining and showing in several posts now, Zefar?

That's not "a small quote". That's a significantly large element that cannot be moved under the pertinent content, or be hidden altogether.
Funny how you so conveniently ignore all these points because "Curators work as intended." Well, in that case the intent has little to do with benefit to customers, then.
Frankly, if Zefar was a regular poster, he'd probably get flagged for trolling by now the way he carries this conversation.
