SteamOS already has a password! Please help!
I contacted steam and all they said was to do a factory reset, the day I received the steam deck oled in the mail. Frustratingly I did, and same issue, the account “deck” already has a password even though it’s not supposed to. Steam isn’t communicating with me now and now it’s unusable. I’m not wasting time installing my games when something has to happen to fix this. I already put a Dbrand skin on and a screen protector. I spent way too much money to being having any issue right out of the box and have them stop responding to me. Can anyone help me please?

The only ones that can help you are the support. Simple users like us cant do much
Did you buy a new or refurbished product (not that it should matter)?

Did you buy directly from Valve/Steam or a secondary seller (eBay, etc)?

Going by the Deck profile bundle, possibly Steam.

Their account is private, I couldn’t see that.

In that case, OP, what you need to do if Steam has stopped responding is open a new ticket asking for a replacement Deck, as yours is defective and their suggestions have not helped.

The OP has a public profile.

If it shows private to you, you might be blocked by the OP.

I'm the only one right now that has a non-public profile in this thread.

I bought it straight from steams website. And it won’t let me open another ticket for the same thing, I’ve tried different ways. I’m just going to try to return it I guess. But I bought the killswitch for it and put the skin and screen protector on. They may have screwed me out of that too.

It’s brand new straight from steam
Hope you get your issue solved. The deck is a surprising machine.

If you don't have any important software or data on your Deck, get a USB drive and a USB C to A adapter, and follow these instructions: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/65B4-2AA3-5F37-4227#install
