Community awards

Allow users to choose which ones they will show in their profile, just like everything else. As far as I know it's just a random number/selection of badges that are shown. I have 5 different ones but only 2 shows up when I try to add them.

The default solution at the moment is the worse option possible. Can't choose, doesn't show all, doesn't show the top/top3 badges, doesn't show the best badge(s), just rng for no reason at all.

It shows the 4 latest badges and the featured badge. It's not random.

You can, it's called the Badge Showcase. You can upgrade it to show 2 or even 3 times as many badges AND you can buy a 2nd one to double that.

But now that you decided to make your own post, I am absolutely convinced Valve will stop dragging their feet and implement this forth with!

it doesnt, when I activate them, only 2 are shown, other 2 are not. It's not the last 2 either because it's showing my first and last received.

You can, it's called the Badge Showcase. You can upgrade it to show 2 or even 3 times as many badges AND you can buy a 2nd one to double that.

I mean, whatever you wanna say. I wouldn't even post about this because I think its way too dumb that Steam never implemented anything like that to the awards and I knew there must be people around asking for the same thing. My intention was never to open up a topic much less search for one. I only got here because after opening up a ticket with Steam support they forwarded me here and said to post about my feedback/opinion because they read. That's what I've done, if it crowds their discussion board I don't really care that much tbh.

Steam support sent you here because they only handle things related to billing or account issues. They don't deal with features people think Steam needs. Sending you here is equivalent to telling you "scram kid, you bother me."

And why would Valve read your suggestion if you can't be bothered to search for all those other requests you think people must have made?

Badges and awards are different things. Your account has 5 awards in total: 2 for your profile and 3 for your content. Also, you’ve received 4 different types of awards

Yeah there's no RNG at all here. The reason why those 2 awards (not community badges) are shown in your profile is that the people who gave them chose to award them to your profile and not other content.

(Awarding awards? Oh well, I hope it's clear enough now...)

I see where the whole confusion started. I named the topic community badge but it was clearly community award.

Kinda off topic, but why is the point system that way?

As example: if I send someone a profile award for 300 steam pts, why do they only gain 100 pts?

Something i think is weird is that i got 2 profile awards but the 2nd isn't even shown? Is that a bug or something?

Your profile itself was awarded once while the other award was for your UGC.

That section only displays awards that were given to your profile directly. It shows up to 4 individual awards in the order from how much the awards cost + how many to the least.

Partly to keep shady people from make rage-bait posts to try and farm Jester icons using alt accounts and then transferring all those points to their main account. Also, pretty much makes trying to sell them useless as you'd be better off buying games and such from Steam instead of giving your money to someone on a 3rd party site and hoping they send you the points.
