Why is there no drag and drop to add exe's to steam?
I'm thinking it's very cumbersome to open the "add a non steam game to library" menu every time I want to add a game. it takes a minute or two to resolve the list of programs, and usually the program I want to add is not on the list, so I end up having to browse for it anyway.

If we could drag and drop an executable file onto steam and allow steam to add the exe to the library, it would streamline the process greatly. as far as I know, dragging and dropping passes the file location, so it would give the same information as if you found to the file in the browser.

as for the reason why I'm always adding so many games all the time, I like to play a lot of games from other platforms with my controller, and because steam has arguably one of the best controller mapping interfaces out there, I like to play them on steam

To answer the title, because it takes a minute or two to add a game.
